How do I get started in Pilates?
The more you practice, the more you learn!
There are three ways to get started in Pilates at Body 2 Fit:
- Private 1-2-1 sessions (The original method of teaching Pilates)
- Small Group Sessions (3 – 6 people) OR
- A Beginners course
Through all three methods you will learn the 6 Pilates principles;
- Centring - Bringing your mental awareness to the centre of the body
- Concentration - Maximum attention and maximum committment will produce maximum gain
- Control - Every movement with every muscle
- Precision - Awareness is key, maintaining alignment of the whole body throughout the movement
- Breath - A fuller breath can produce far more with each exercise
- Flow - Fluidity, ease and grace are applied to every exercise
This will amply prepare you to then challenge your mind and body further with our Improver and Advanced courses filled with progressively harder exercises and specialist Pilates Equipment.
Private 1-2-1 Sessions
Pilates was originally taught on a 1-2-1 basis and not surprisingly this form of tuition is where clients see results fast!
Sessions on a 1-2-1 basis are available for introducing ‘the basics’, for regular personal training, to improve physical and sporting performance or for specialist client groups like:
- Professional Sports people
- Pre- and Post-natal
- Back pain sufferers
If you seek a new challenge or would like to add Pilates to your existing training programme, then this is by far the best option for you.
Private 1-2-1 sessions guarantee an individually tailored Pilates experience enabling you to achieve your goals quicker than ever.
Private 1-2-1 sessions are available at your convenience 7 days a week.
Small Group Sessions
Small Group sessions offer the combination of more personal tuition whilst maintaining an atmosphere of a class environment.
Ideal for specialist groups (e.g. Pre- and Post-natal, elite sporting clubs, spinal rehab) or like-minded friends.

An introduction to Pilates, typically over 6 weeks (1 hour a week), where you can expect an interactive session outlining the principles of the Pilates method and learn how to recruit the entire ‘Powerhouse’ or ‘Core’ muscles.
