"Healthy alignment of your feet, knees and hips are crucial for maintaining good posture and optimum sports performance"
Keith Forster - Consultant Podiatrist
A Podiatrist applies the science of human mechanics (or biomechanics) to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the lower limb
WHY come to the FOOT doctor ... what do they do ?!!
Simply explained ...
Podiatrists are highly skilled clinicians who have trained at undergraduate degree level to diagnose, treat, prevent and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They are the experts in assessing your walking gait or running style and the best qualified to tell you which pair of shoes or trainers to buy to fit your feet and reduce injury!
So how's that going to help you with your 'over-pronating' foot?
Many of us inherit feet that have slight defects that can generate excessive stresses through tissues of the lower limb - during sport or even everyday activities. These defects could eventually affect our soft tissue structures - ligaments, tendons, muscles, and bone - or collectively the spine and overall posture.
Our Podiatrist can perform a Biomechanical assessment - which involves a detailed physical examination of the foot, legs, pelvis and their combined function alongside the use of state-of-the-art treadmill video analysis, digital foot scanners and force plates to formulate an accurate diagnosis of your lower limb pathology.
Where appropriate, shoe inserts - orthotics – may be recommended. Body 2 Fit is able to provide custom-made orthotics for the individual, thereby helping to reduce the abnormal stresses and help correct lower limb alignment and function.
Body 2 Fit's bespoke orthotics can be used in everyday footwear, work shoes, indoor sports shoes and even outdoor sports shoes including football and rugby boots.
So if you're in need of improving your posture whilst standing at work; looking to reduce your relentless, ongoing back pain, fed up of that reoccurring Achilles tendon problem or the excrutiating shin splints ... OR maybe you're just wondering if you can shave a few more seconds off your next run ...
Why not contact our Podiatrist NOW to book a Biomechanical Assessment ...
